Details of ways to access worship and church community during lockdown…

In the Edgehill benefice we offer:

  1. Live stream services on Facebook and YouTube at 10.30 every Sunday. These can be accessed:
    1. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/523215405286846
    1. YouTube: https://sites.google.com/view/st-peters-livestream/home
  2. Midweek communion service on Zoom* at 9.30am on a Thursday morning
  3. Night prayer on weekdays at 9pm on our Facebook livestream. This prayer follows the contemplative tradition and helps us to reflect on how we have encountered God in that day

If you miss any of our live stream services, then you can watch them at any time later by clicking on the links above.

As well as the online services we will continue to offer a couple of touching points for conversation in the week:

  1. We offer a virtual coffee morning on Zoom* between 10 and 11 on a Thursday morning
  2. We offer a chance to catch up with each other after the 10.30 service on Zoom* on a Sunday

On top of this we run occasional online games and activities that help us to keep and grow our bonds as community.

*Please contact me if you would like the links to these Zoom meetings and services

Collective worship is not just about what we hear in the word, sing in our hymns, or share in the sacrament. It is also about community and sharing our lives with each other. The banter, laughter and prayers that appear in the comments during a Facebook livestream are another great way to connect with each other. So please do take advantage of the above opportunities.

Diocesan and National offerings

As well as the above local services and activities, the diocese and the national church also offer ways to help us stay connected with God. Whilst these don’t include the opportunity to meet with friends, they are still good quality resources to help us through this difficult time.

  1. Coventry Cathedral live streams a Eucharist service on their Facebook page at 10.00 am on a Sunday morning
  • DailyHope phoneline - 0800 804 8044The DailyHope phone line is a free national telephone line, offers music, prayers and reflections as well as full worship services from the Church of England at the end of the phone.

The line – which is available 24 hours a day on 0800 804 8044 – has been set up particularly with those unable to join online church services during the period of restrictions in mind; to provide

comfort and spiritual nourishment to the most isolated in our society.

Again, the diocese and the national church also offer other services and activities in line with the seasons of the church calendar. So, keep an eye on their websites for more information on upcoming services and events.
